Multnomah Whiskey Library: A Bar That Looks Like A Library
In the extensively egalitarian city of Portland the Multnomah Whiskey Library in spite of being a newcomer, strikes the chord with uptown members. Did you think there were only strict reservations for members? Well, the fact is this classic library or dare I say a Whisk(e)y Library knows the secret of welcoming strangers too. At least I was one when I visited first. Turn up alone during the early hours when the staff is not inclined towards the members.
Do you want to feel like a VIP? This is your place. Since its opening in 2013, popularity of the library themed bar lied in its rarely found tequila program as well as the lesser and major distilled spirits stacked along the racks like books in libraries. The Hopworks BikeBar resembles a little of this library theme. Know more about Hopworks BikeBar. The oldie charm lies in the leather chairs, polished wooden island and the exposed brick walls.
The Green Room –Coziness Meets Celebrations
Green lamps, emerald tiles on back bar wall, green chandeliers, long wooden tables and vintage framed photographs of sophisticated men from bygone ages –yes, you are in the Green Room of Multnomah Whisk(e)y Library. Sunbeams pass through the large windows as you gorge onto the Pacific NW Oysters or American Bison flank Steak. Join the strangers at the community table made of oak or check out the bartenders mix craft selections while sitting on leather armchairs.
The Must-try From Multnomah Whiskey Library
Open from 4 PM – 12 AM from Monday through Thursday and from 4 AM – 1 AM on Friday and Saturday, the Multnomah Whiskey Library owes its reputation to the cocktail selections like Hickleberry Revival, Tiger Uppercut, Ace High and Hayward’s Negroni. Their featured spirits like Highland Park Loki, Stranhan’s Single Malt, Rye Whiskey, Kentucky Bourbon, Clement XO, Ranson The Emerald, Aria Dry and traditional Mexican spirits are all-time favorite along with their draft and bottled beers, ciders and wines. As for food, my favorites are Wagyu Tartare and Meat Board followed by Dark Chocolate Rye Whiskey Cake.
